Welcome to TOKYO FREE PARKS, where we introduce you to the best parks in Tokyo. This time, we’re recommending TONERI PARK, a fantastic destination for families traveling Tokyo with children.

Toneri Park is one of Tokyo’s largest parks, spanning 65 hectares and divided into four areas: A, B, C, and D, with the Toneri Liner running through its center. While the A and D areas feature a baseball field and tennis courts, we will focus on the B and C areas, which offer plenty of fun for children.
Adventure Playground (C area)

One of the highlights of Toneri Park is the “Adventure Forest,” a new playground facility that opened in 2021. Designed for children aged 6 to 12, this expansive area boasts 6 large play structures. Kids can climb, slide, and explore, enjoying an adventurous experience while surrounded by safety-conscious rubber chip flooring.

March – October 10:00a.m. – 4:00p.m.

Toddler Play Area

Right near the Adventure Playground, you’ll find a toddler play area designed for children aged 3 to 6. With gentle slopes and short slides equipped with handrails, it’s a safe and enjoyable space for little ones.
Sledding (B area)

In the B area, there’s an artificial turf hill perfect for sledding, making it a year-round favorite activity at Toneri Park. Sleds are available for free rent. And the slope, measuring 44 meters wide with a maximum incline of 20 degrees, is suitable for children aged 3 to 12. Small children should sled with parental supervision.
Opening Hours
10:00a.m. – 4:00p.m. ※Note: Closed for a break for an hour (12:00p.m. – 1:00p.m.)

Wading Pool (Summer season only)

During the summer months, don’t miss the free wading pool, known as “jabujabu-ike.” It’s open to children from toddlers who are out of diapers up to third graders. What sets it apart is the waterslide, making it a popular choice among Tokyo’s wading pools. (Please remember to wear swimsuits when using the facility).
