スポンサーリンク

Welcome to TOKYO FREE PARKS! Today, we’re introducing Suginami Jido Kotsu Kōen, or SUGINAMI CHILDREN’S TRAFFIC PARK, a fantastic place for kids, whether they’re avid cyclists or beginners.

Miniature Japanese Roadways

Inside this park, you’ll find a miniaturized version of real Japanese roads complete with traffic signals, railroad crossings, crosswalks, and road signs. The best part? You can explore these roads on rental bicycles, all for free!

Complimentary Bicycle Rentals

The bicycles come in various sizes, categorized by tire size from 16 inches to 26 inches, and there are a total of 6 types available. The on-site staff will provide you with the bicycle and even lend you a helmet. Keep in mind that bike usage is limited to children aged 4 to middle school students and their accompanying adults.

Mini Tokyo Station

Mini Tokyo Station

At the end of the main street, you’ll come across a charming red brick building with a pointed roof, resembling a mini Tokyo Station. The combination of trees and the station’s architecture adds a touch of elegance to the scenery.

Next to the station, you’ll find a small train and a railroad crossing. The sound of the crossing bell ringing will surely excite young train enthusiasts.

Bike Riding Zone for Toddlers

Children under the age of 3 are also welcome to join in the fun. The park offers a dedicated bike riding area for toddlers, where little ones who are new to cycling can safely enjoy their first bicycle experience with training wheels.

Go-Karts: A Leisurely Ride Delight

But it’s not just about bicycles; other forms of transportation are also popular here. You can cruise around the park on foot-powered go-karts, and both kids and adults can have a blast together.

Throughout the park’s asphalt pathways, you’ll encounter crosswalks and traffic signals. Children navigate these with a mix of excitement and a hint of nervousness as they ride their bicycles or pedal go-karts.

Exploring Beyond the Park: Cycling Routes

To the left of “Mini Tokyo Station,” there’s another entrance that connects to the “Zenpukuji River Green Area Children’s Cycling Path.” This cycling path stretches for 1,300 meters, combined with the park’s 1,100 meters, giving you a total length of 2,400 meters to explore.

What’s more…

The park’s open spaces feature playground equipment, providing a break from cycling fun.

Additionally, you’ll find a D-51 steam locomotive on display, adding to the charm and atmosphere of the traffic park.

Picnic tables are scattered throughout the park, and there are restroom facilities, making it a recommended destination for families to enjoy quality time together.
